Android 5.0 Delayed For HTC’s Google Play Edition Handsets

htc-one-review-m8-labshot-21If you are the proud owner of either the HTC One M7 or the HTC One M8 Google Play Edition handsets, you might be disappointed to learn that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for either device has been delayed, again. You might recall that a few weeks ago, HTC announced that there would be a slight delay as Google had yet to approve the update.

Well it looks like Google is still dragging their heels on the approval process, at least according to HTC’s Mo Versi who posted an update on Twitter stating that Google had yet to give the update their blessing due to their current workload. However he did mention that he expects that the update should be coming soon.

This means that HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 Google Play Edition owners will need to wait just a little bit longer for the update. Unfortunately there was no timeframe provided as to when we might be able to expect the update, so we guess owners of either handset will just have to play the waiting game.

Hopefully we will be able to look forward to it before the end of the year. Until then do check back with us at a later date for more details about the update’s release.
