Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro To Launch As Redmi Note 3 Tomorrow; Here’s Everything We Know So Far

Xiaomi is hosting an event in China tomorrow where it is rumored to launch as many as three devices. One of them includes the long-rumored Redmi Note 2 Pro, which as per a new teaser will actually be called the Redmi Note 3.

Xiaomi put up a simple teaser photo on Weibo, which reads Redmi Note 3. Besides the change in the nomenclature, no new details have been revealed. It is a tad surprising that Xiaomi is opting to launch the successor to the Redmi Note 2 just two months after its launch. It could not only prove to be confusing for potential buyers, but a bit of a disappointment for those who bought the phablet in September.

The Redmi Note 2 Pro, in our opinion, is/was an apt name considering it is the same smartphone as the Redmi Note 2, albeit with a metal body and the fingerprint sensor placed just below the rear camera. In terms of size, the Redmi Note 3 is only said to be 0.55mm thinner than the Redmi Note 2, and the specifications are believed to be identical as well.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 specifications and features : Speaking of which, the Redmi Note 3 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core 64-bit chipset, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. It is also expected to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 3,060mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.

As mentioned above, Xiaomi is expected to unveil as many as three products tomorrow in China. Besides the Redmi Note 3, President Bin Lin has teased the launch of the next-generation Mi Pad 2. Reports also suggest that the company could finally take the wraps off its first-ever smartwatch.
