New reports suggest Apple could release a third phone with the highly anticipated upgrades to the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus in 2017.

Unnamed sources within the tech giant's Taiwanese supply chain reveal users should expect a 5-inch model with the same specifications as the larger variants.

The rumored handset is also believed to have a dual-lens camera array with iSight modules organized vertically – instead of the familiar horizontal design.

    NEW IPHONE RUMORS

Several rumors have been circulating about the newest iPhone model, expected in Autumn next year.

    The next device may have:

    - Dual-lens 3D camera

    - Augmented reality to generate real-time views of surroundings

    - Curved glass casing

    - Plastic OLED screen

    - Wireless charging

    - A folding element

    - New 5 inch (12.7 centimeter) and 5.8 inch (14.7 centimeter) models

The news was first reported by Macotakara, a Japanese blog that revealed Apple was removing the headphone jack and speculated the firm was working on upgrades for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

'The basic specification seems to be common to the iPhone 7s series, and it seems that various specification studies such as the iSight Duo camera are arranged vertically rather than sideways,' reads the blog.

'Note that these final specifications will be decided during the second quarter of 2017 in the Apple fiscal year.'

Today's report adds to the growing rumors that have been surrounding the updated iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that one of the models is codenamed 'Ferrari'.

And again, it was Apple's Asian supply chain that leaked the information.

According to the leaked documents, the high-tech Ferrari phone will boast wireless charging, an 'invisible' home button, and a bezel-less OLED display - which may indicate that the screen will be curved.

The leaked document lists three new handsets, labelled D20, D21 and D22.

D20 and D21 will reportedly release as the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus.

But the model D22, codenamed 'Ferrari' in the document, will enter the frame as a special 'souped-up' model.

Apple Insider, who obtained a copy of the leaked docs, describe the new phone as: 'A completely redesigned high-end variant'.

The top tier model will be 'a high-end version [of the iPhone 7S Plus] stuffed with exotic technology,' they say.

The new phone will also reportedly include a 'split logic board'.

One piece will carry the new A11 processor chip and flash storage, with the other carrying the Wi-Fi and communications bits.

Recent iPhone 8 rumors have only served to fuel the fire of Apple fans ever-hungry for more next-generation rumors.

Recent speculation that Apple's newest phone models will be curved appear to ring true.

    IPHONE 7 IN JET WHITE?

When Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 in September, its brand new 'jet black' design sold out in a matter of hours.

But it appears that a new 'jet white' version could soon be hitting stores.

A video has emerged online which hints at what the white version could look like, if Apple does release such a device.

Reports of a new white version first appeared in November, when Japanese site, Mac Otakara, suggested that Apple would add a sixth color option to its iPhone 7 line-up.

Sources speaking to the website said: 'Apple seems to have a plan to add a pure white model to iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus.'

The website cited the source as a 'supplier'.

'But this information may be unreliable,' the site added.

While no official 'jet white' iPhone has emerged yet, a video has appeared on Twitter which hints at what the device may look like.

The post, by Sonny Dickson, a technology leaking site, says: 'Could this be the Jet White iPhone 7?' alongside a video showing an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 7 Plus, both with white casings.

The documents claim that the Ferrari model will use OLED panels mounted on plastic, suggesting the screen might be curved.

Several rumors have been circulating about the newest iPhone model, expected in Autumn next year.

The next device may have a dual-lens 3D camera, which comes with augmented reality to generate real-time views of surroundings.

It could have curved glass casing on the back, and a folding element.

Rumors suggest that the latest model could come in 5 inch (12.7 centimeter) and 5.8 inch (14.7 centimeter) models.
