Last week, reliable tipster Evan Blass revealed that HTC is working on an extension to the squeezable U11 range in the form of the HTC U11 EYEs – and now the handset has been spotted in a listing the firm’s website.
The HTC U11 EYEs sports a 6-inch Super LCD3 screen (1080 x 2160), a Snapdragon 652 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal storage, a dual front-facing camera setup and a 3,930mAh battery, according to the now-pulled listing.
The information was accompanied by a new render (below), showcasing a unit with an edge-to-edge design and a centre-mounted rear-facing fingerprint reader – in line with the images Blass shared on Twitter on Friday, December 12.
Blass also has reason to believe the HTC U11 EYEs will feature the same pressure-sensitive frame, which allows users to trigger different actions – launching the camera, for example – by squeezing the device for a predetermined length of time, as on the original U11.
HTC is tipped to launch the U11 EYEs in Japan later today (Monday, January 15), so we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out what its dual-selfie shooter is capable of – and what other tricks the handset may have up its sleeve.
